POLICY IMPROVEMENTS OUTREACH

improving the implementation of current policy and advocacy for evidence-based future policy initiatives

The forest landscapes in Vietnam generally and in Thua Thien Hue province particularly are changing dramatically. The transition is currently related to several themes such as deforestation, degradation, biodiversity conservation, landscape management as well as complex issues of access, tenure, and justice which have huge impacts on outcomes for the people and environment that share these landscapes.

The FTViet project will use project results and insights from multi-stakeholder participatory interactions to suggest changes to forest policies which further improve rural livelihoods whilst satisfying criteria for environmental sustainability, possibly within optimized frameworks for monitoring and adaptive management.

Series of evidence-based policy recommendations at relevant levels, from policy implementation guidelines within specific districts or province to policy-making at national level, will be produced across the project cycle.
