Biography
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Van graduated from the Department of Environmental Science of Hanoi National University of Natural Sciences and got her M.Sc on Forest and Nature Conservation Policy from Wageningen University (Netherlands). She joined PanNature - a Vietnamese NGO in September 2008, right after her graduation from university and worked as a policy analyst/coordinator of the Policy Research Program. During the time with PanNature, Van has significantly developed her own research and knowledge to tackle challenging on environmental and social safeguard issues, mostly focus on nature conservation, forest governance and several new market-oriented initiatives as REDD+, PES and FLEGT/VPA.
Currently, Van works with Prof. Christian Kull on the Social Science Research Workpackage of the FTViet and prepared her Ph.D on the Political Ecology of local responses and livelihoods adjustment within the conjuncture of changing forest governance and resource use regimes in the edge of the nature conservation area, as the Saola Nature Reserve and its periphery, Upland Central Vietnam.
